Havana, Cuba - 4 nights & 5 days Sample Itinerary

 

 

Day 1: USA - Havana (4 nights)

 

Fly from the USA to Havana, Cuba today.  After clearing Cuban immigrations and customs meet your private Cuban English speaking guide outside the arrivals terminal.

 •  Private transfer directly to Old Havana

 •  Visit the Plaza de la Revolucion

 •  Lunch at a local restaurant in Old Havana.

 •  Guided walking tour of Old Havana including the Plaza de Armas, the Used Booksellers Market, Plaza de la Catedral and La  

    Floridita Bar.

 •  Check-in to our hotel between 4:00 and 4:30PM.

 •  Welcome dinner at a local Paladar (private restaurant)

 

Accommodation:  Hotel Parque Central or equivalent.   Lunch & dinner provided.

 

Day 2:  Havana -  Art scene

 

 •  Breakfast at the hotel

 •  Visit the former residence of the Governors of Havana (Palacio de los Capitanes Generales), a Cuban Baroque mansion and  

    museum which showcases colonial-era art and artifacts.

 •  Visit the Fine Arts Museum (Museo des Belles Artes)

 •  Lunch at a local restaurant

 •  Visit at least two famed Cuban artists in their private studios

 •  Visit the impoverished yet vibrant barrio of Muraleando. A small but devoted group of artists volunteer their time and skills

    to help establish a center for arts, music, dance and theatre.

 •  Visit Galleria La Lavanderia, a project of young Cuban artists.

 •  Dinner is not included this evening.

 

Accommodation:  Hotel Parque Central or equivalent.   Breakfast and lunch provided.

 

Day 3:  Havana – Las Terrazas - Havana

 

 •  Breakfast at the hotel

 •  A 1 ½ hr. drive to Las Terrazas in ARTEMISA Province, a “must see” in Cuba and known worldwide for its magnificent scenic

    beauty.  

 •  A brief stop at the Clinica Las Terrazas to learn how medical services are handled in rural Cuba.

 •  Visit Maria, the oldest member of the community and the sole proprietor of the town’s only coffee shop, Café Maria – ‘best

    coffee in the country”.

 •  Visit to the home and private studio of artist Lester Campa subject to his being in residence.

 •  Country-style Cuban lunch prepared and served outdoors at a local farmhouse near Las Terrazas.

 •  Enroute back to Havana after lunch we have the distinct pleasure of visiting “Fusterlandia”, the home and surrounding

    neighborhood of “The Picasso of the Caribbean”, Jose Fuster.

 •  Visit the Artisans Market situated along the Malecon in Old Havana

 •  Dinner is not included this evening.

 

Accommodation:  Hotel Parque Central or equivalent.   Breakfast and lunch provided.

 

Day 4:  Havana – Hemingway – Alamar – Cojimar – Columbus – Havana

 

 •  Breakfast at the hotel

 •  Visit the Cemetery of Christopher Columbus.

 •  Half hour drive to Finca Vigia, Ernest Hemingway’s Cuban home and currently a national museum.

 •  Visit the communal District of Alamar on the outskirts of Havana with its community gardens called Organoponicos and  

    Soviet-style pre-fabricated concrete apartments.

 •  Walk through the local fishing village of Cojimar, the setting for ‘The Old Man and the Sea”.

 •  Lunch at Paladar El Ajiaco in Cojimar.

 •  Return to Havana.  Afternoon at leisure.

 •  Farewell dinner included at one of Havana’s famed Paladars

 

Accommodation:  Hotel Parque Central or equivalent.   Breakfast, lunch & dinner provided.

 

Day 5: Depart Havana

 

 •  Breakfast at the hotel

 •  Private transfer to Havana’s Jose Marti International Airport

 •  Check in for departure flight to the USA

 

Program includes:

 

 •  4 nights double or twin room accommodation at the Hotel Parque Central or equivalent in Havana subject to availability.

 •  Meals per day as noted

 •  One drink per included meal: bottle of water, coffee, glass of wine, beer, Mojito, soft drink, etc.  Any additional drinks can be

    ordered and paid for by the client in cash.  

 •  Private English speaking national guide throughout the tour

 •  All transportation as noted in itinerary by modern private air-conditioned vehicle

 •  All entrance fees to included tour sites

 •  2 bottles of water per day per person onboard the motor coach (except transfer days).

 •  Cuban travel insurance covering medical and re-patriation expenses only (required by the Cuban government)

 •  Authorization documentation allowing passengers to clear US immigrations upon returning to the United States provided by

    Vaya Sojourns, Inc. (USA Office of Foreign Assets Control:  licensed Cuba Travel Service Provider)

 

Program does not include:

 

 •  Air transportation to or from Havana

 •  Cuba visa fee - estimated $85 per person

 •  Cuba departure tax:  estimated $25 per person

 •  Gratuities to guides, drivers, hotel maid service, hotels porters,, restaurant waiters.

 •  More than one drink at meals which are included in the program at restaurants.

 •  Cuban departure tax estimated 25CUC  (approximately $30 USD per person)

 •  Expenditures of a personal nature (laundry, telephone, internet fees, etc.)

 •  Anything not mentioned in “Included” above

 

BOOKING CONDITIONS

 

We are pleased to present a proposal for you to present to your clients. Our proposals are always given to you in a NET amount.

 

Upon approval of the proposal and confirmation of the program, we will send you an invoice. We will also forward you a spreadsheet with the information required to process the visas, air accommodations and travel affidavits.

 

 •  Cancellation penalty: No refund for any cancellations within 30 days of arrival Havana or for any reason during the actual

    operation of the tour in Cuba.  

 

 •  PAYMENT CAN BE MADE BY CHECK ONLY

 

At approximately 30 days prior to travel, we will prepare a final itinerary, which will be sent via an attachment in an email. We will mail the visas, ticket vouchers (if applicable) and the travel affidavits along with charter airline check in instructions and local Cuban contact information.
